Overview

CoBuild Labs developed a compact, battery-powered biopotential acquisition system capable of recording high-quality ECG and EMG signals for research and product development applications. Designed with ultra-low-power electronics and comfortable wearable electrodes, the system enables long-duration physiological monitoring while supporting both wireless and wired data communication.

02

The Challenge

The client required a portable and research-grade ECG/EMG acquisition system that combined high signal quality with long operating time and user comfort. Developing such a device required addressing several engineering challenges:

  • Capturing low-noise ECG and EMG signals with research-grade accuracy.
  • Designing ultra-comfortable electrodes suitable for long-duration recordings.
  • Developing a compact and lightweight wearable device.
  • Minimizing power consumption to maximize battery life.
  • Supporting both Bluetooth and USB communication without compromising signal integrity.
  • Achieving reliable real-time data streaming with minimal latency.
  • Maintaining signal quality during user movement and prolonged operation.
